Delta Systems Announces Diagnostic Plunger Switch Designed for Tamper-Resistant Machine Safety Monitoring

Streetsboro, Ohio, Oct. 14, 2026 - Delta Systems, Inc. announced the upcoming release of its new Diagnostic Plunger Switch, designed to support tamper-resistant position monitoring in machine safety systems. The switch is intended for applications including brake, neutral, operator seat and rollover protection structure (ROPS) interlocks, with commercial availability expected in early 2027.

The Diagnostic Plunger Switch combines two technologies to help equipment manufacturers improve position monitoring and extend product life.

Key features include:

  • Tamper-resistance: Distinct resistance values for each of the switch’s two operating states help machine control systems identify unexpected signals and potentially detect attempts to bypass the switch.
  • Non-contacting magnetic design: Magnetic sensing reduces reliance on physical electrical contacts, helping minimize wear and support an extended switch service life.

“Our Diagnostic Plunger Switch gives equipment manufacturers another way to strengthen system integrity without compromising reliability,” said Tony Aboumrad, VP of Engineering at Delta Systems. “Its design addresses both position monitoring and switch longevity in a single solution.”

“Continued innovation means finding practical ways to help OEMs meet evolving equipment requirements,” said Isaac Kirbawy, Director of Product Management at Delta Systems. “This release is another example of how we’re developing solutions to support manufacturers as they design their next generation of equipment.”

The Diagnostic Plunger Switch is designed for a range of equipment markets, including outdoor power, construction, agricultural, and material handling. Potential applications also include personal transport vehicles (PTVs), low-speed vehicles (LSVs), utility task vehicles (UTVs) and golf carts.

Delta Systems will showcase a prototype of the Diagnostic Plunger Switch at Equip Expo 2026, October 20 - 23, at Booth #9078.OEMs and industry professionals are invited to visit the booth to learn more about the technology and discuss development opportunities ahead of the product's anticipated early 2027 release.
