Delta offers a variety of small engine hour meters that feature a unique mounting wing design, enabling easy and efficient snap-in installation. The snap-in design eliminates the need for mounting hardware, saving you money on your bottom line and reducing assembly time in your production process.
Electronic meters are offered in key-on models that accumulate time when the ignition key is in the on position or magneto powered, which accumulate time when the engine magneto is energized. Many digital functions such as a voltmeter and visual maintenance reminders can be combined into a single, space-saving meter.
They have a large, five-digit, anti-fogging display and are environmentally sealed. Delta's electronic hour meters are designed to be reliable in rugged outdoor applications, and they are field and laboratory tested for salt fog, dust, vibration, water spray, and chemical resistance. We can create unique meters with custom face plates, bezels and pad-printed graphics to compliment your panel design.
Typical applications include: riding lawnmowers, snow blowers, walk behind lawnmowers, generators, rental equipment, golf carts, power-washers, go-carts, and floor cleaning equipment.
Smartgard® Hour meter
Snap Delta's Smartgard® hour meter into your dash to measure actual equipment hours and protect the battery from power drain. Smartgard® detects the magneto signal and records only actual engine hours. Additionally, a microprocessor controlled auxiliary output guards against unnecessary battery drain as a result of end users inadvertently leaving the ignition switch "on." Just like an automobile odometer, Smartgard is tamper resistant. Let the Smartgard® hour meter protect your warranty dollars by providing actual equipment hours and eliminating unnecessary battery claims.

“Key-on” Hour meters
Key-on hour meters are traditional solutions accumulating time when power is supplied to the hour meter. The phrase “key-on” is used because most applications use a key switch to turn the engine on and off. In “key-on” solutions when the key is in the “on” position the hour meter counts time.
2014-012
- The traditional “key-on”, 5-digit hour meters accumulate hours whenever power is applied to the hour meter. The front and back case is sealed, giving the hour meter environmental protection from sunlight, water, oil and battery acid.
2006-017
- The traditional “key-on”, 5-digit hour meters accumulate hours whenever power is applied to the hour meter. In addition, this hour meter includes visual operator warnings for four system functions: low battery, PTO engaged, parking brake disengaged and engine oil low.
Magneto Powered Hour meters
Delta’s “true run time” hour meters offer an accurate representation of run time, only accumulating hours when the engine is running. When compared to traditional solutions, the magneto powered hour meters offer the unique difference of being powered completely from the engine’s magneto. There are no batteries to run out or replace. This hour meter is designed to consume very little power; so, you don’t even need a battery on you equipment.
2014-105
- The magneto powered, 5-digit hourmeter accumulates time only when the engine is running. The sealed housing protects the electronics from rugged conditions, and the anti-fogging properties allow for clear viewing of the display.
